Oolong 6 Ways – Tea Tasting Event
Join us on April 22nd from 1:30-3:00pm for a delightful tea-tasting event in collaboration with Teakan co. at the Rock Bay Market! At this event, we’ll be showcasing two exquisite single-origin Oolong teas sourced directly from tea farms in China. Each tea will be served 3 different ways and paired with a tasty treat created by chef Cam Picyk.
Together we will take a flavour journey though cold infusion & gonfu, to kombucha & jun! Each preparation was thoughtfully chosen to showcase different flavour profiles within the tea. You will discover the unique flavours and aromas that make each tea special, the role terroir plays, and learn about the history and wonder of tea.
Teakan’s tea expert Claudia, will be our special guest to guide you through the the traditional gongfu style of making tea, and will speak to the Oolong varietal and our chosen teas origins. Head Brewer Evan from Cultured Kombucha will guide you through tasting kombucha and jun brewed with our two Ooolng teas, where you can learn more about the intrinsic relationship between tea and kombucha.
